Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talent to fill the position of HIM Tech/Specialist for our HIM department. This job is permanent, full-time.
Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:
Assembles and analyzes the record for chart completion deficiencies, in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff rules and regulations.
Ensures any deficiencies are assigned to the appropriate medical staff member and data is entered for tracking and monitoring purposes.
Reviews documentation and updates or clears the deficiencies as appropriate.
Responsible for answering telephone calls and assisting visitors (including but not limited to physicians, patients, and their family members), while maintaining confidentiality.
Performs release of information in accordance with HIPAA and state release of information laws.
Performs daily scanning duties of patient charts into electronic health record and quality assurance audits to ensure appropriate location within record.
Performs all State of TN monthly and quarterly reporting
Performs daily monitoring of IMmodal Transcription and monthly audits
