Your Impactful Role
The Medical Records Supervisor oversees the daily management of the Medical Records department.

Supervisor Responsibilities 

Oversees the day-to-day operations in the Medical Records department. Plans, organizes, schedules, and oversees the work of subordinates.Ensures that all health information management practices meet state standards.Assists with recruitment, training, coaching and development of new and existing staff. Coordinates staff coverage. Plan and hosts team meetings. Maintains updated resources and procedures. Maintains Super User status for all computer programs. Works with the leadership team and other managers to identify and resolve issues. Provides suggestions for improved workflows. Provides management with data and reports.Establishes incentives for the team. Assists the Administrative Assistant and Personal Injury departments when needed. Other leadership duties may be assigned. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

Processes medical records requests received from attorneys, patients, insurance companies, physicians, clinics, and hospitals. Certifies and/or notarizes records when needed. Distributes faxes and Athena bucket items to the appropriate staff. Requests charts and films from the storage company. Processes mail and scans documents into an electronic medical record system. Answers incoming phone calls. Responds to emails. Covers for the courier when needed. Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  One year of customer service experience in a high volume, multi-unit medical practice.Previous leadership experience is required.Previous medical records and customer service experience is required.Knowledgeable in basic clinical functions, administrative practices, and operational procedures in a medical setting.Must have proven anilities to multitask in a fast paced environment and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
