Title: Medical records technician Pay rate: $25/hr Duration: 6 months temporary position (may extend) Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Duties include but not limited to; + Maintains an accurate list of charts which have been requisitioned from the department as observed by Manager. + Quickly and accurately retrieves records from and files records into filing system. + Returns charts to the chart return area of department according to departmental policy. + In an effort to maintain record security, verifies the identity of individuals who requisition charts to ensure that access is permissible as observed by Manager. + Takes the initiative to contact units and individuals with overdue charts, revoking the privileges of chronic offenders, as observed by the Manager. + Evenly distributes charts for assembly. + Completes disability requests for information. + Processes boxes to be shipped to outside storage facility. + Performs reviews of Medicare bills and corresponding documentation. Job requirements: HS Diploma Three (3) years of experience working in a medical records setting required, including auditing experience. Working knowledge of terminal digit filing processes. Computer experience required.
