As Medical Science Liaison, you will represent Varian, A Siemens Healthineers Company, as the primary point of contact for initiatives relating to collaborative research and development opportunities, with external partners.
Responsibilities:
Promote scientific exchange with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in pursuit of Varian’s medical science objectives, including but not limited to organizing focus groups, advisory boards, scientific conferences, etc. Foster mutually-beneficial relationships with existing KOLs and develop strategies for engaging new KOLs. Build new research strategies and collaborations with academic and industry partners. Partner with KOLs to define publications strategies in support of Varian’s medical science objectives. Partner with KOLs to facilitate the transfer of information and technology between researchers and Varian product development teams. Play a principal role in the preparation of materials for disseminating medical information to cancer care providers, patients, cancer care advocacy groups, and the media. Maintain current knowledge of the state of practice and research in one or more therapeutic domains supportive of Varian’s business objectives. Comply with all regulations governing communications between Varian and healthcare providers and patients Engagement with Varian business units. Facilitate the prosecution of Varian-sponsored, investigator-initiated, and collaborative research agreements. Provide subject matter expertise and education to Varian business units in efforts to support and guide research and development strategy. Play a principal role in developing educational content for Varian business units in one or more therapeutic domains. Play a principal role in curating medical information and evidence for distribution internally and externally. Participate in exhibitions and other similar activities in compliance with regulations governing communications with healthcare providers and patients. Comply with all regulations governing the exchange of items of material value between Varian and healthcare providers.Requirements:
Medical Physicist qualification (PhD is a plus). 5 years + professional experience in radiation oncology and training in medical physics. Self-motivated, autonomous and accountable. Broad experience in the medical device sector. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in solving complex business problems. Demonstrated ability to network and develop working relationships with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Fluency in English language, both written and spoken, essential. Willingness to travel throughout EMEA Region – estimated at 25%.Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
