The Scribe contributes to administration of care management. Provides non-clinical support to the assessment and evaluation of members' needs and requirements to achieve and/or maintain optimal wellness state by guiding members/families toward and facilitate interaction with resources appropriate for the care and wellbeing of members. The Scribe performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically works on routine and patterned assignments. Job Description The Scribe decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation. The Scribe will assist and document on all patients seen daily by Physician Assistant. **Use your skills to make an impact** **Required Qualifications** + Ensuring uncompromised patient care by transcribing fast and accurately, as well as performing thorough editing. + Typing out the full forms of medical abbreviations and acronyms, as well as the formal versions of medical jargon. + Identifying and following up on inconsistencies, errors, and missing information within a transcribed report. + Submitting transcriptions to healthcare professionals for their approval in a timely manner. + Performing additional tasks such as following up and revising patient history, as well as entering medical reports into electronic health records systems. + Protecting patient confidentiality and adhering to legal requirements. + Receive patients, schedule appointments, and maintain patient records + Work with transcription equipment that can include speech recognition equipment, word processing, and computer software + Create templates and enter data into electronic health record (EHR) systems for updated record keeping and archives + Performing clerical and administrative tasks as necessary, including mail, phone calls, scheduling, submitting insurance claims, and operating common office machines. + Recording patient medical histories, physical examinations, test results, diagnoses, and treatment plans in digital audio files + Providing customer service to physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals, and patients through email, telephone, or face-to-face meetings + Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Scribe/Transcriptionist, or similar, such as provider documentation/notes and medical charting + Proficiency in Microsoft Office with Word, Outlook, and Excel + Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences + Thorough understanding of Medical Terminology **Preferred Qualifications** + Previous eCW (eClinical Works) experience + Bilingual English/Spanish + Certification as a Healthcare Documentation Specialist + Medical Assistant Background + Excellent customer service and communication skills **Additional Information** **Working hours** : Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM **Additional Information** This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program.
