CenterWell is seeking a Medical Scribe, this position is for a medical transcriptionist who will transcribe visit notes into the electronic medical record system.

Job Functions:
Editing and correcting medical dictation performed by speech recognition software.Ensuring uncompromised patient care by transcribing fast and accurately, as well as performing thorough editing.Typing out the full forms of medical abbreviations and acronyms, as well as the formal versions of medical jargon.Identifying and following up on inconsistencies, errors, and missing information within a transcribed report.Submitting transcriptions to healthcare professionals for their approval in a timely manner.Performing additional tasks such as following up and revising patient history, as well as entering medical reports into electronic health records systems.Protecting patient confidentiality and adhering to legal requirements.Receive patients, schedule appointments, and maintain patient recordsWork with transcription equipment that can include speech recognition equipment, word processing, and computer softwareCreate templates and enter data into electronic health record (EHR) systems for updated record keeping and archivesPerforming clerical and administrative tasks as necessary, including mail, phone calls, scheduling, submitting insurance claims, and operating common office machines.Recording patient medical histories, physical examinations, test results, diagnoses, and treatment plans in digital audio filesProviding customer service to physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals, and patients through email, telephone, or face-to-face meetings Use your skills to make an impact
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a Medical Scribe/Transcriptionist, or similar, such as provider documentation/notes and medical chartingEMR ExperienceProficiency in Electronic Health Record systems.Ability to transcribe accurately and maintain a minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.Experience with specialized transcription equipment and voice recognition software.In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and jargon, as well as editing practice.Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and meet legal requirements.Exceptional written communication skills and knowledge of medical record formats.Willing to travel to nearby clinics to help when needed.Preferred Qualifications
eCW Experience Strongly preferredCertification as a healthcare documentation specialist would be advantageous.Medical Assistant BackgroundDemonstrated excellent customer service and communication skillsMicrosoft Access proficiencyWorking hours: Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM
