Market Medical Executive (MME)

Position Summary: This role is for the quality and statutory medical director in Texas for the North Texas and Oklahoma region. The Market Medical Executive (MME) role is viewed as the clinical leader by both internal and external partners. The MME drives key business and clinical initiatives through consultative interactions to achieve clinical quality, equity and care efficiency goals, supporting growth by supporting and driving membership growth through both retention and new sales, leading value-based care initiatives, and driving innovative solutions that are aligned with both national and local market priorities. This position is in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and is a hybrid position that requires some in-office presence weekly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contributes to growth and persistency through strategic collaboration with market leaders, sales, and account managementServes as the clinical expert with customers, clients and producersCouples data analysis with clinical insights to drive consumer engagement and affordabilityRecognizes new opportunities based on market and national clinical and business trends and partners with cross-functional matrix partners to bring solutions to the marketLeads medical action strategy planning, development and execution of local market affordability goalsCollaborates with the market teams and the provider community to achieve the quadruple aim and drive Cigna as the “partner of choice” within the clinical environmentSupports market and regional provider and contracting staff with clinical expertise for the development and execution of value-based and other contracting initiativesInitiates, fosters and leverages existing external partnerships with individual vendors, providers and C-suite relationshipsDevelops and motivates internal, cross-functional teams to achieve market targetsInfluences improvement in clinical operations processes, organizational strategy and innovation in healthcare connecting to the voice of the provider through surveys, advisory councils and other forums to ensure bi-directional customer and provider feedbackParticipates in special projects as the market-facing clinical expert to develop strategic solutions and actions focused on key business initiatives.Prioritizes time on what’s important, acting in a timely manner, particularly in a dynamic and ambiguous environmentDrive health equity and social determinants of health solutionsEvolves with changing needs in the marketQUALIFICATIONS:
Active and unrestricted Medical License in TexasCurrent Board Certification; primary care preferredMinimum 5 years of clinical practice experienceAdditional business, and/or population health management training or experience a plusAt least 3 years of experience in a healthcare business environment and/or Health PlanExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated leadership, problem solving and follow-through skillsProven ability to function in a heavily matrixed, diverse and inclusive organizationTrack record of results reflecting strategic and tactical solutionsStrong relationship building and influencing skillsAbility to convey complex information in an understandable way to various audiencesStrong analytical skills and problem solving skillsDemonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyDemonstrated aptitude to learn on the fly and acquisition of new skills, such as business and financial acumenCOMPETENCIES:
