Essential Functions: Provide expert medical guidance and consultation on complex cases within the organization.Collaborate with staff to assess the medical needs of clients and develop comprehensive healthcare plans.Conduct regular case reviews and provide ongoing support to ensure the effective implementation of medical services.Offer technical assistance to shelter programs, ensuring a thorough understanding of medical issues and best practices in the field.Develop and deliver training sessions to enhance the capacity of shelter staff in addressing medical challenges among clients.Stay informed about the latest medical research, trends, and innovations to inform and improve medical services.Work collaboratively with the management team to develop and implement best practice models for medical services within programs.Evaluate existing medical protocols and recommend enhancements based on evidence-based practices and industry standards.Establish a continuous quality improvement process to monitor and refine medical services over time.Foster positive relationships with external healthcare organizations, practitioners, and community partners.Collaborate with local healthcare agencies and professionals to enhance referral networks and ensure a comprehensive continuum of care for clients.Participate in relevant community meetings and forums to stay connected with local healthcare resources and developments. Other Functions: Develop and maintain project plans for new effective implementation of medical needs and services.Proactively manage timelines.Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must adapt to organization technological platforms and strategic changes. Qualifications and Requirements: Medical degree (MD or DO) and board certification in a relevant specialty. Current and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice. Demonstrated experience in providing medical services, particularly youth. Knowledge of preventive care, chronic disease management, and public health.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Preferred:
Bilingual (English/Spanish). Physical Demands:Must be able to drive and travel, as needed. Other requirements include daily use of various office equipment, frequent typing and writing as well as bending, twisting, stooping, climbing upstairs and lifting up to 15 lbs. items that may be required to complete tasks. Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas.
Work Environment:General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer uses at a workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
