\n\nJOB SUMMARY
\nCoordinates the activities of Medical Staff Services in assisting the Medical Staff to perform the functions required in Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, JCAHO standards and all other accreditation and licensing agencies.
\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
\n\nImplements new programs, as indicated, to effectively meet the needs of the Medical Staff.\nHelps the Medical Staff with annual review of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.\nDiligently monitors credentialing function to ensure compliance with Bylaws, State and Federal regulations.\nCommunicates effectively with members of the Medical Staff, other medical professionals, hospital staff, legal counsel, and community contacts.\nAttends Credentials Committee and Executive Committee meetings of the Medical Staff and records minutes of the proceedings.\nHelps with the development, planning, and implementation of credentialing/privileging process.\nTracks clinical privileges of medical staff and allied health staff and helps in development of privilege criteria.\nMonitors the focused professional practice evaluation process for new medical staff members and for newly granted clinical privileges.\nEnsures that all documents that have to be renewed are reviewed, obtained and managed on a monthly basis.\nParticipates in Quality Improvement activities.\nMaintains confidential credentials files, electronic medical staff database, and medical staff correspondence.\nPerforms other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous way.\nActs as liaison between staff and management, and acts on behalf of management in the absence of such.\nProvides training and acts as a mentor for staff.\n\nKEY SUCCESS FACTORS
\n\nExhibits high degree of responsibility for confidential matters.\nCommitment to continuous learning and keeping abreast in the Medical Staff Services industry.\nExperience in database management, medical staff and/or credentialing services required.\nExcellent organizational skills, work management skills, and proficiency in working with computerized databases required.\nAssociates degree preferred.\nMedical staff services experience required.\nCertification by National Association of Medical Staff Services (CPMSM or CPCS) or eligible for certification within one year of hire preferred.\nManagement experience preferred.\n\nBENEFITS

QUALIFICATIONS
\n\nEDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent\nEXPERIENCE - 3 Years of Experience\nCERTIFICATION -\n\nMust obtain one of the following within 24 months of hire:
\n• Certified Medical Staff Coord (CMCS) or
• Certified Provider Credentialing Spec (CPCS) or
• Certified Prof Medical Services Manager (CPMSM).
