About the job:

Medical Staff Office is responsible for various administrative duties as requested by the medical staff, chairs of the medical staff departments and committees and Manager of Medical Staff Services.

What you'll do:

Coordinate credentialing activities including, but not limited to, scheduling orientation interviews for new applicants, chair file reviews for initial appointments, reappointments, additional privileges, interpretation of delineation of clinical privileges, FPPE, etc.)Coordinate expirables for the MCHS and joint ventures including, but not limited, to license, dea, insurance, EFM, ACLS/BLS/ATLS, standard care arrangements, etc.Coordinate annual physician events (Doctors' Day, Golf Outing, Holiday Celebrations, etc.)Practitioner data entry into hospital and medical staff databasesExhibits a professional appearance and demeanorDependable, punctual, team playerPrepares, updates, and distributes monthly calendar of medical staff events.Prepares, updates, and distributes the monthly emergency room call schedules.Schedules meeting rooms and prepares Service Requests for medical staff meetings on a monthly basis and as needed.Responsible for processing timely physician reference verification requests as received.Prepares reports and labels from the medical staff database for physicians and Mount Carmel Health System departments, as needed. Attends and prepares clinical department, CDC and/or MEC, Committee, and other MCHS medical staff meeting materials including but not limited to agendas, minutes, packets, etc.Prepares and coordinates annual dues notices and physician lounge and parking access for physicians and AHPs.Maintains and updates physician preference database.Maintains and updates Disaster Credentialing tool box.Assists with meeting preparation and provides clerical support for Manager, Medical Staff Services and physicians as needed.Prepares confidential correspondence/documentation for Medical Staff purposes, as needed.Works with other Hospital Departments to assist with compliance to ODH, CMS, and Joint Commission requirements.Assists Department Chairs with responsibilities of position in compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Joint Commission and Hospital policies.Manage incoming in-person, phone calls, faxes, and/or email requests and timely responds .Coordinates mailings to medical staff and AHP members as requested.Takes work direction and performs administrative work as requestedMaintains confidentiality in all situations involving Mount Carmel Health System, MSS department, customers and stockholders.

What we're looking for:

Preferred Education Requirement Associate degree in secretarial sciences or medical field preferred.Minimum of five years' experience performing administrative dutiesAbility to take minutes at an adequate speed while remaining accurate.Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)Clinical background helpfulUnderstanding  medical terminology preferred.Knowledge of Medical Staff Services processes preferred (i.e., credentialing, reappointment, clinical privileging, FPPE, etc.)
