As the longest established hospital in the southeast valley, Chandler Regional has provided care for the Chandler community since 1961. The hospital recently added a new five-story tower with 96 patient beds, increasing the acute-care bed count to 338. This expansion increased emergency and trauma services, as well as the surgical unit and intensive care offerings.

Responsibilities

As a Charge Nurse at Chandler Regional Medical Center you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every interaction is an opportunity to improve your understanding of a patient's needs, the needs of your nursing team, or the needs of your unit. You'll advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

Responsibilities:

Ability to serve as leader and teammateEnsure your direct reports and department are positioned to deliver the best care possible to our patientsHigh level of engagement with the floor- visibly connecting with nurses, patients, and familiesAttend meetings with leadership to learn about new initiatives, areas for improvement, etc. and share that information with your teamMonitor productivity and efficiency of your departmentMentor people on your team. Share your knowledge and confidence with assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, and others

Qualifications

Minimum:

Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty ADN, Diploma, or foreign equivalentCurrent AZ State RN license in good standing Current American Heart Association BLS healthcare provider card American Heart Association ACLS obtained within six months of hire 

Preferred:

BSNCharge Nurse experiencePrevious experience with personal computers
