We are seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to join their growing team!_ **Pay rate:** $36/hr. **Location:** Spokane, Washington **Job type:** 3-month contract **Job Summary:** We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will perform a wide range of laboratory tests, maintain equipment, ensure quality control, and contribute to accurate patient care through precise testing and timely results. This position requires strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team. **Key Responsibilities:** + Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria + Perform a variety of routine and complex technical laboratory procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) + Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality + Exercise independent judgment to make technical decisions related to testing and problem-solving + Prepare tests and evaluate new reagents or controls for use in laboratory testing + Provide accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care + Conduct preventive maintenance and document quality control procedures for all laboratory tests and equipment + Identify, track, and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary + Assist with specimen processing when needed + Maintain a safe working environment and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field, or meet local regulatory CLIA and state requirements + Minimum of 0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required + State Medical Technologist license (if required in your location), ASCP or AMT certification preferred (or required depending on location) + Proficiency with laboratory equipment, computers, and familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus **Additional Health & Safety Requirements:** + Tuberculosis (TB) screening is required + Hepatitis B (Hep-B) titer may be run, and candidates not immune may choose to be vaccinated or decline \#INDBH \#LI-DNP We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
