Medicare IRF PAI Coord
**Job Summary** The Medicare IRF PAI Coordinator is responsible for ensuring documentation in patient's medical records are accurate, detailed, and supports all CMS guidelines for admission and reimbursement for the admission in the Hospital/Facility. This position is also responsible for training new team members regarding their role in the patient assessment scoring as well as educating staff on updates in guidelines and required documentation. T **Essential Functions** + Collects patient information from medical records and inputs the appropriate information into the assessment form. + Assigns sections of the assessment form to appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team and ensures scheduled completion dates are met and information is accurate. Appropriately questions and acts to correct any scoring discrepancies. + Generates and transmits reports to CMS using UDS. + Analyzes medical record coding for accuracy and questions any coding discrepancies. + Assures that final assessments are accurate and transferred to the data base as well as the billing office in a timely manner and consistent with the CMS regulations. + Maintains confidentiality in manner related to patient, family and facility staff in accordance with HIPAA. + Assists with clinical liaison duties as needed. + Promotes and positively represents the Hospital/Facility/Unit and its team in all interactions. + Works as a part of a team:a. Performs duties willingly and with initiative, demonstrating judgement and respect.b. Shares information in designated format.c. Displays the principles outlined in the Community Cares Handbook.d. Remains calm and works effectively in stressful situationse.
