Medication Bedside Coordinator – **Cancer Center**

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Medication Bedside Coordinator – **Cancer Center**.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for management of Hospitals Medication to Bedside Program staff. Oversight of the medication to Bedside program adherence to State and Federal guidelines. Maintaining a Continued Quality Improvement Process for Medication to Bedside program. The coordinator will follow up with the patients white bag medication provider to assure timely delivery of these medications to the corresponding pharmacy prior to the patients infusion encounter

Job Responsibilities:

Work with Hospital staff to promote and educate patients of Medication to Bedside services.  Oversight of white bag medication supply inventory at the infusion pharmacies. Follow up with the patient to authorize white bag prescription dispensing from the patients pharmacy provider and to assist with the timely delivery of their medications to the corresponding infusion pharmacy.  Assist with prescription coverage authorization. Update and document the patients white bag supply inventory in the Epic tool.  Send alert as needed. Generate reports on program utilization and financials associated with M2B program.  Provide weekly reports to Outpatient Director.  Attend and represent the pharmacy department during interdisciplinary meeting.  Assist Outpatient Director with policies and procedures related to medication to Bedside program  Work with pharmacy staff to obtain prior authorization for patients when required. Work with NYU staff to assist patients with applicable forms of financial assistance when warranted  Work alongside hospital clinicians to assure excellent patient care, contacting patients as required using all forms of communication (phone /in person /computer)  Work with Pharmacy Management to maintain a system which tracks all patient interactions with regard to Medication to Bedside program (usage and non-usage).  Evaluate and reengage program to address patients concerns  Work with Ambulatory Care pharmacists to maintain a tracking system which establishes patient adherence. Provide quarterly reports of medication compliance.  Communicate directly with patients to assist them in the delivery of their medications, ensuring patients receive medication in a timely fashion, if required.  Work with Pharmacy management to maintain an accounts receivables process. Establish and monitor a system that tracks patient medication deliveries to ensure a 100% compliance of delivery  Maintain and oversee process to ensure proper medication inventory and supporting documentation.  Actively participate in ways to improve Medication to Bedside White Bag Supply service.  Participate in new pharmacy initiatives.  Maintains reliable attendance and punctuality record; adheres to departmental and organizational policies.  Responsible for internal pharmacy metrics assigned by management.  Performs other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree from an accredited college in Health care field.
Experience in pharmacy insurance adjudication and overrides.
2-5 years of experience working in a pharmacy.
Pharmacy Technician certification.
Strong computer skills: able to work with various hospitals systems (EPIC) and Microsoft Office products.
Strong interpersonal skills: strong communication skills, ability to interact with patients and health care providers..

Required Licenses: Cert Pharmacy Technician

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in health care field.
Progressive managerial experience.
Strong Computer Skills: able to work with various Hospitals systems (EPIC) and Microsoft Office products
Strong interpersonal skills: strong communication skills, ability to interact with patients and health care providers.
Strong organizational skills: Ability to promote new initiatives, work independently and meet deadlines.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 – $76,722.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
