Medication Manager
Easterseals Iowa is currently looking for Certified Medication Managers! Come join us at our serene Camp Sunnyside and make lasting memories for a lifetime! Our current need is for the 2024 Respite Camp Weekends- (subject to change depending on availability) Friday: 6:00pm-10:00pm Saturday: 7:00am-3:00pm/ 3:00p-10:00p Sunday: 7:00am-5:00pm Hours can be flexible but ideal candidates are required to work 1 shift per month Principle Accountabilities: + Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. + Follow appropriate medical routines including record keeping, disposal of medical waste, managing and safeguarding medications, and utilizing approved standing orders. + Perform inventory, organize, and administer medications checked into the health center. + Assist with entering MARS into database, completing documentation, and phone calls to guardians and caregivers. + Organize cabin MARS and binders. + Provide first aid to campers and team members. + Keep health center clean and organized. + Assist team members as needed in making sure other care and supervising needs are being met in accordance with Easterseals' protocol. + Acquire working knowledge of each camper's medication administration record as assigned. Understand given medications desired effects, side effects, and undesired effects. + Understand, follow, and work to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures including all safety regulations. + Assist team members in making sure that all documentation is completed in accordance with the program's protocol. + Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements: + Must be 18 years of age at time of employment. + High School diploma or equivalency preferred. + Certification in approved medication management course. + Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats. + Ability to accept supervision and guidance. + Ability to collaborate cooperatively with direct supervisor and other team members. + Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift. + Ability to transfer or move a minimum of eighty pounds. + Ability to pass CPR (Adult and Child), First Aid within first 90 days. + Ability to successfully complete Mandatory Reporter of Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within first 30 days. + Ability to safely pass medications in accordance with the Easterseals Medication Administration policy + Insurable under Easterseals insurance policy. + Access to Reliable Transportation for regular participation in work. Interview process consists of 1st phone interview with Recruitment and Talent Development Coordinator and 2nd Team Leader Interview.
