The Metal Fabrication team is responsible for performing a range of intricate tasks, contributing to the processing and breakdown of precious metals used in the production of finished and die-struck items. The role of a Metal Fabrication Melt Technician is primarily responsible for the segregation, melting and accountability of customers returning metal to recycle and get credit on their account. Secondary duties include producing the highest quality of mechanical finish obtainable for all internal/external casting grains, and the movement of grain samples both physically and systematically using our Oracle Computer Tracking System for assay analysis.
Key Responsibilities: Promote and maintain a "safety first" work environment.Wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed footwear, company-provided safety glasses, and appropriate attire.Operate an induction furnace with precision, ensuring the highest level of accountability and accuracy with customer materials.Maintain a clean-shaven face while working in the melt room to ensure proper fit and function of safety equipment.Operate a centrifugal tumbling machine to burnish surface oxides from the melt pouring process, including loading material, monitoring cycle times, and properly removing and rinsing materials.Perform rolling and weight verification of assay samples while maintaining accurate records in Oracle.Ensure accountability for issued job weights.Regularly check Stuller corporate email for important company communications.Complete periodic computer-based training as required. Minimum Qualifications: Basic computer proficiency.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.Accuracy with weights and measurements.Capability to operate machines and tools safely and efficiently. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.Familiarity with Oracle or other inventory management systems.Experience operating furnaces or tumbling machines.
