The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.
Scope of Position
This individual will be directly involved with engineers and technologists in learning the melting glass processes. Duties will include assisting Engineering Dept. Heads and Engineers with projects in the plant. A midterm review and a final review will occur with plant senior leadership in midsummer.

Process engineering skills - quantitative skills, coursework in engineering statistics or other statistical training. Technical writing, ability to deliver technical presentations to operators, engineers and managers. Innovative and technically curious. Problem solving and decision making. Results oriented.

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
