Purpose of Role: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of ladles and vessels, including the refurbishment and relining of AOD vessels, bottom pour ladles, and transfer ladles. Duties involve removing and disposing of used linings using a chipping gun, constructing stopper rods, and utilizing an overhead crane for the precise positioning and movement of ladles, vessels, and refractory materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repair: Responsible for the upkeep and repair of ladles and vessels, including the relining and refurbishment of AOD vessels, bottom pour ladles, and transfer ladles. Remove and dispose of used linings with a chipping gun and construct stopper rods.

Equipment Handling: Operate an overhead crane to position and move ladles, vessels, and refractory materials with precision.

Compliance and Quality Assurance: Adhere to Visual Work Instructions and Standard Work Flow Charts. Ensure all ladles, ladle components, and vessels meet established process and quality requirements.

Data Management: Assist with the collection and input of relevant data to support maintenance and operational activities.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in lean initiatives including 6S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), Visual Management, and Kaizen to enhance workplace efficiency and effectiveness.

Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

High School Diploma/ GED required

Good communication skills
