PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $24.90-$30.38 hourly. The full Pay Range is $20.20-$35.96 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:  

As a Member Consultant II, you will play a key role in delivering a seamless and high-quality member experience. Your expertise in BECU’s products will allow you to identify, diagnose, and address members’ consumer financial needs and refer them to specialized services when necessary. You will serve as a subject matter expert, resolving our members' needs and providing expertise in specialized financial services. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

Exceptional Member Experience and Sales Consultation:    

Utilize product knowledge to provide excellent customer service and sales, including areas of business services, consumer lending, deposit servicing, IRA, POA, and Fiduciary accounts.  

Sign all line and loan documents that originate through outbound/inbound call center, ensuring each Member’s needs are fulfilled.  

Member Consultants may be expected to provide notary and medallion signature guarantee services to BECU membership.  

Financial Literacy-based Sales: Deepen and retain member relationships using the Member Advantage and other BECU programs.  Develop new member relationships within the community, including member referrals. 

Enhanced Loan Services: Interview and process business loan applications, forwarding completed applications to Business Services.  Conduct thorough consumer loan interviews, complete applications and necessary documentation, and ensure all members receive prompt, efficient, and professional service. 

Branch Operations: Maintain thorough knowledge of all forms and documentation necessary for each consumer and business loan type. Ability to comply with SAFE Act legislation, which requires annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO)  

By applying to this requisition, you have expressed interest in working in a branch within the Central District. 

In the Central District, there are pod branches.  A pod is a group of branches that are close in proximity to one another.  If selected for employment, you may train out of any one of the pod branches.   

  

After completion of training and while awaiting an opening in a pod branch, you will be scheduled to work in any of the pod locations.  You must be comfortable with all commutes pertaining to branches within the pod you’re hired into. 

 

The pod you’re applying to includes the following branches: 

Ballard, Queen Anne, Broadway, 2nd and Pine, DSFC, South Lake Union

Training requirements will involve traveling to and from our Tukwila Financial Center

 12-Week Training Schedule:  

Monday-Friday with flexibility needed to work shifts between the hours of 8:00am and 6:30pm 

   

After training, Member Consultants are scheduled during any of the branch operating hours: 

Monday-Friday between 8:30am-6:15pm  Up to three Saturdays per month from 8:30am-1:30pm

QUALIFICATIONS:   

Minimum Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience  

Minimum two years of experience in a sales-oriented, financial, or retail environment  

Desired Qualifications:  

One year of experience in a financial institution

Thorough understanding of the sales process and ability to manage a sales pipeline efficiently  

Strong proficiency and comfort level with learning new systems and programs; with the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously 

Ability to successfully complete 12-week in-house training program after hire  

Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Credit Union key objectives, product and service solutions  

Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to membership, deposit, and loan products and services offered.  

Proficient verbal and written communication skills to enable daily communication with Members 

Proficient math aptitude and analytical skills  

Problem resolution, negotiating, organization, multi-tasking and peer coaching skills  

Ability to work flexible shifts between the hours of 8:00am and 6:30pm during the week, and 8:00am and 1:30pm on Saturdays
