About the Team
The team, Core Data Path, is based in San Jose, California, and is dedicated to developing innovative solutions within the core data landscape of Nutanix. The team culture is collaborative, fostering open communication and teamwork, which allows for diverse perspectives in problem-solving. The mission of this team is to enhance the performance and reliability of distributed systems while providing exceptional customer support, ensuring that they meet the evolving needs of the industry.
You will report to the Hiring Manager, who adopts a supportive and mentorship-focused leadership style, encouraging professional growth among team members. The work setup for this role is hybrid, requiring team members to be in the office two to three days a week, offering flexibility within that range for optimal collaboration.
This role does not require travel, allowing team members to focus their efforts on local projects and interactions with internal stakeholders.
Your Role
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement core data solutions.Engage in coding and debugging using C++ programming language.Lead medium-sized projects as an MTS 4, mentoring junior engineers.Contribute to the design and optimization of distributed systems.Assist in troubleshooting and resolving customer escalations alongside SRE engineers.Participate in technical discussions and project planning meetings.Conduct technical screenings and interviews for potential candidates.Achieve project milestones and set foundations for leading larger projects in subsequent years.
What You Will Bring
Strong proficiency in C++ programming.Experience with distributed systems.Solid understanding of operating systems fundamentals.Systems programming capability (required for MTS 4 level).Master's degree plus relevant experience or Bachelor's degree with additional experience as specified.Effective communication skills for customer and team interactions.Ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams.Familiarity with Git and knowledge of file systems (nice to have).
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 136,800 - USD $ 273,600 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
