Contract Type Classified Hourly If other, please specify Recruitment Type Open Position Details General Statement Montana State University seeks a dynamic Member Services Coordinator. This position reports within Campus Recreation, which aligns with the Student Wellness area, within the Division of Student Success. This position will be a crucial part of managing the member services operations within the new Student Wellness Center, a 168,000 square foot facility that is home to Campus Rec, Student Health Services, and Counseling & Psychological Services. The Member Services Coordinator will report to the Associate Director of Facility Operations. This position has direct responsibilities for coordinating the day-to-day membership and facility operations related to the welcome desk, equipment checkout, and the overall member experience within the Student Wellness Center. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: delivering excellent customer service, management of the membership program (sales, recruitment, and retention), point-of-sale transactions/registrations, and supervision of student employees. Duties and Responsibilities + Coordinate and help manage member and guest operations such as customer service, access control, equipment check out, locker rentals and clean outs, and program registrations. + Hire, train, supervise/manage, and mentor student employees (45-50 Operations students). + Foster a welcoming and inclusive user experience. + Manage point of sale systems: credit card transactions, electronic funds transfer ( EFT ) procedures, payroll deduction and cash handling procedures in compliance with University Procurement and Payroll offices. + Serves as one of the administrative leads for Fusion software system. + Help support Associate Director of Facility Operations with various facility projects. + Contribute to department wide operations and strategic planning such as budget processes, assessment, data tracking, student development initiatives, special events and outreach. + Contribute to area marketing processes. + Participate on departmental, area, divisional or university committees as needed. + Work front desk shifts as needed. + Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management, Business, Sport Science or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education. + Demonstrated experience and success in a customer service setting; preferably in wellness, fitness or recreation sales and/or membership. Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills + Master’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management, Business, or Sport Science or related field. + Experience in higher education. + Prior experience using Innosoft Fusion or other membership/recreation facility management software. + Experience with promotions, sales, marketing, website management, social media management, communications and/or public relations. + Current certification in CPR / AED or the ability to obtain the certifications within three months of hire (in-house training is available).
