The Director of the Artis Way Experience plays an important role as the leader and resident ambassador stewarding resident orientation and transition, acting as a bridge between cross functional teams aligning care plan and service delivery to residents needs and interests. The DAWE also leads weekly and monthly family communication ensuring families are frequently informed and engaged about resident wellbeing. This role also plays a leadership role in associate orientation, ongoing dementia specific staff training, participates in sales outreach, and supports the ED in ensuring Artis’s recognition program is delivered. This role, as a senior, also trains and develops other DAWEs at assigned communities and supports Artis national initiatives.

The Director of Artis Way Experience – Primary Responsibilities:
RESIDENT ONBOARDING
ASSOCIATE ONBOARDING + ONGOING TRAINING
Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate Team Member Orientation for all new hires. Participate in the recruiting and interviewing process of key staff, as directed by Executive Director. Performs Monthly All Staff Training on Dementia Specific Learnings and Service Delivery.ASSOCIATE RECOGNITION
Manage the Positive Partner recognition program. Promote awareness and participation in the monthly and annual nomination process. Oversee the selection process and ensure the monthly finalist receives personalized recognition. Prepare and manage the annual budget for Positive Partnership programs (i.e., recognition programs, training, monthly Positive Partner program). Complete and submit the Positive Partner of the Year applications. Work with DLE to ensure monthly Positive Partner recognition in social media.FAMILY COMMUNICATION
Communicate with families at least once per month. Maintain effective communications with residents, families, and providers when out on leave of absence. Assist facility with discharge planning as needed. Visit resident in rehab and/or SNF to assist with transition back to Artis and communicate with families. Lead weekly and Family Communication Efforts and creation of monthly printed/emailable newsletter. Ensure that VoiceFriend has up to date family contacts (upon move-in and move out)SENIOR CARE THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Promote The Artis Way philosophy and values. Observe community policies and procedures regarding resident and team member safety, attendance, timeliness, house rules, teamwork, and resident service. Lead Monthly Support Groups for families and caregivers. Maintain professionalism and resident confidentiality at all times. Maintain networks with external organizations that specialize in memory impairment issues to stay up to date on current trends in research, treatment, and evidence-based best practices. Partner with the Director of Sales and Marketing to assist in the development of and continued engagement of relationships with referral sources. Participate in monthly sales presentations, speaking engagements, and sales calls. Attend continuing education opportunities through webinars, local and state conferences, and CEU programs. Adhere to all Infection Prevention, OSHA, fire, and safety regulations at all times, to ensure the safety and well-being of all community residents. Perform all other duties as requested.Educational and Licensure Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology preferred. 3 or more years of experience working in healthcare environments.
