Men's Basketball Coach

Bryant & Stratton College’s Albany Athletic Department offers Men's Basketball. BSC basketball programs compete at USCAA Division I (scholarship offering). All coaches are responsible for the overall recruitment, development and advancement of a competitive athletic program while demonstrating high moral and ethical standards and positive sportsmanship.

This is a 12-month part time position with office hours, recruitment goals, fundraising goals and team volunteer outlines. 

Duties:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

The Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for all aspects of the Men's basketball program.

The Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for recruiting players, holding tryouts, and coaching the intercollegiate basketball team at Bryant & Stratton College.

The Men’s Basketball Coach is expected to become knowledgeable of all The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) basketball rules, including student-athlete eligibility requirements.

As representatives of the College, all coaches and student-athletes must always conduct themselves in a professional manner. It is the responsibility of the Men’s Basketball Coach to supervise staff and student-athletes while traveling, and to ensure the safety of staff and student-athletes.

Responsible for working with the Athletic Director scheduling, organizing, supervising, and conducting all travel, practices and games.

Basketball Coach is required to drive vans to basketball games/practice when needed.

Other duties may be assigned by the Campus Director and athletic director.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Required: Basketball coaching experience at the high school level or above.
Desired: Basketball coaching experience at the college level
Desired: College recruiting experience
Desired: Familiar with Tri-State area basketball high schools and club teams
First aid/CPR certification is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning and leadership skills required.
Must be able to serve as a positive role model for young adults.
Familiarity with USCAA rules and regulations is a plus.
Required: Clean driving record and a valid Driver License and must pass a background check.

Hours vary from day, evening, weekends, overnights, holidays to best fit the needs of the team. 

 

Compensation is a flat stipend range of $25,000 - $30,000 annually.
