Position Overview: MST (Multisystemic Therapy) is an intensive family and community based treatment that addresses the multiple determinants of antisocial behavior in juvenile delinquents and offenders. MST addresses the multiple factors known to be related to delinquency across the key settings, or systems, within which youth are embedded. MST strives to promote behavior change in the youth’s natural environment, using the strengths of each system to facilitate change. The MST model fits well with the Children’s Village mission statement, current focus towards community based services and family reunification and with CV values. The MST model promotes personal responsibility, education, work ethic, community responsibility and an intolerance of violence and prejudice.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications: Masters’ Degree in a New York State Licensable degree (MSW, CSW, PhD, MFT, MHC), and 12 months as an MST Therapist or 1 year of direct clinical experience in treating adolescents or family systems preferred.
Bilingual in English & Spanish a plus.$3,600 additive given for license or 1 year post grad experience.
