Adecco Healthcare & LifeSciences is currently looking to hire a Mental Health Clinician role for their client in Newark ,NJ location .
**Job Title - Mental Health Clinician**
**Job Type -Temp (3months with possible extension )**
**Shift Hours - 8am to 5pm (M-F)**
**Pay - 50/HR**
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Provide Individual and Group Counseling:**

3. Offer confidential, short-term counseling to students, including assessments, treatment planning, and therapy.
4. Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on issues relevant to the student population (e.g., stress, anxiety, adjustment to college, cultural identity).
5. Provide culturally sensitive services, with an emphasis on supporting the mental health needs of a diverse student population.
6. **Crisis Intervention:**

8. Respond to mental health crises and emergency situations, providing immediate support and connecting students with appropriate resources.
9. Assess risk and provide crisis stabilization for students experiencing acute distress.
10. **Collaboration with Campus Partners:**

12. Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to support student success and mental health needs.
13. Participate in multidisciplinary teams for student support, including providing input on student referrals and cases involving academic, behavioral, or social issues.
14. **Cultural Competence and Advocacy:**

16. Demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse cultural, racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds of students.
17. Advocate for the integration of culturally competent mental health practices within the college environment.
18. Assist students in navigating identity-related challenges, such as those related to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.

21. Maintain accurate, confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and treatment plans in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
22. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding privacy, including FERPA and HIPAA.
**Qualifications:**
+ Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
+ Licensed or license-eligible mental health professional (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, psychologist, or similar credentials).
+ Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with a focus on college student populations preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, including experience working with students from underrepresented minority groups.
+ Knowledge of best practices in college mental health counseling, including mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and counseling techniques.
+ Strong understanding of cultural competency and the ability to provide services that are sensitive to the unique experiences and challenges faced by students from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
+ Experience in providing psychoeducation and outreach to diverse groups.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience working with students who face intersecting identities (e.g., first-generation college students, LGBTQ+ students, immigrant and refugee populations).
+ Training in trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based practices, or other specialized therapeutic modalities.
+ Experience with academic and student support services within a college/university setting.

**Pay Details:** $45.00 to $50.00 per hour
