Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) Youth Parole Bureau have offices in Las Vegas, Reno, Fallon and Elko. This position provides services to include screening and assessments using standardized techniques to determine client eligibility for services and appropriate placement within the juvenile justice system or community programs. This position requires a working knowledge of theories/principles of counseling including assessing and treatment planning, symptoms, characteristics and treatment of mental illness, emotional and behavioral disorders, and crisis intervention techniques. The position also requires knowledge of laws governing abuse and neglect of clients. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
