Mental Health Specialist (12487)

InGenesis is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to work with our client. In this role, you will be responsible for providing culturally competent preventative and early intervention mental health services for the ARISE program. This position will spend approximately half the time in the field.

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide preventative counseling services to youth and adults. Perform comprehensive behavioral health services including intake evaluations, assessments, crisis intervention, ad hoc counseling, individual/family/group intervention, treatment planning, collateral assessment/intervention, health education, and outreach. Attend outreach events with the Outreach Worker. Consult and collaborate with Program Manager and Outreach Worker Serve as main liaison to school districts and provide school-based behavioral health services. Perform behavioral health screening, triage, evaluation, and assessment to determine the appropriate level of behavioral health care. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate referrals to existing community resources when indicated by assessed need. Maintain current patient case records and prepare reports as indicated. In consultation with the Psychiatrist, provide psychopharmacological consultation for primary care providers within the scope of practice.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in social work/social welfare or doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. Current California license - clinical social worker (LCSW) or psychologist. Bilingual (preferably Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, or Japanese) highly desirable.

Preferred education, experience, training

One year of directly related experience, including a background in primary care consultation, behavioral medicine, health psychology, or other relevant areas. Experience in public/community health settings and/or in serving Asian communities. Experience in school-based settings.

Physical Demands:

This position requires:

Sitting, walking, and standing associated with working in a normal medical/clinical office environment and with providing services out in the field. Regular bending and stretching; and lifting. Manual dexterity used to include, but not limited to, standard office equipment, and computer keyboard. Presenting information in front of a group. Reading and writing in order to review records for accuracy and maintain client files. Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary.


This position is dependent on contract award.
