More than 67,000 students and 22,000 faculty and staff learn, work, and serve the public at Rutgers locations across New Jersey and around the world.   Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey has opening for Clinical Research Coordinator III within the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute, located in Piscataway, NJ.  As a member of the Social Work Department, the Mental Health Specialist II will perform a variety of patient support services in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures. 

Duties include:
Under supervision, provides administrative and staff support to the Social Work department at the World Trade Center Health Program- EOHSI. Executes assignments requiring data collection and analysis for reports and program evaluations as needed. Assists in maintenance of essential records. Conducts benefit assessments and advises patients of internal resources to assist with their needs. Responds with sensitivity to cultural and socio-economic impacting patients. Identifies and assists patients navigate social service systems external to the WTC Health program in an empathetic, concerned and therapeutic manner. Interacts with patients, providers, and stakeholders, by communicating in a professional manner. Ensures patients receive care needed for WTC certified and other conditions. Assists with outreach to and onboarding of external mental health providers. Coordinates patient care with referrals for WTC mental health diagnoses, disability application assistance and benefit information. Involved in activities to improve patient experience. Documents interactions with patients and providers in the EPIC in a timely fashion. Screens calls and provides information in accordance with organizational policy. Receives and appropriately handles incoming correspondence, makes appointments, and responds to inquiries as needed. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of clinic and department policies and procedures. Works in collaboration with other staff/outside agencies to develop programs to improve mental and physical health of patient population. Coordinates social service/case management needs with other WTCHP team members. Assists in survey production, collection of data and follow up activities based on results.
