This role is working with individuals with substance use disorders. **How you make a difference** The Support person plays a crucial role in providing frontline support to patients requiring heightened observation and engagement through therapeutic activities and recreation. Serving as an integral member of the treatment team, they ensure a therapeutic milieu and prioritize the safety of the living unit. Their responsibilities involve offering therapeutic-based activities and maintaining a secure environment for patients in need. **Key Responsibilities** + Assist Clinical Team Leader, Therapists, and Psychologists in implementing clinical treatment plans for Mental Health Watch patients in medium and maximum-security facilities. + Promote a therapeutic milieu within observation and unit areas as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team. + Engage in non-clinical interactions with prisoners, organizing social and recreational activities to complement three daily clinical sessions. + Support observation of patient behavior for safety and clinical concerns, documenting interactions and behaviors throughout the day. + Enforce policies, contribute to a therapeutic environment, and receive guidance from a Qualified Mental Health Professional in non-clinical activities for patients on Mental Health Watch. **Qualifications & Requirements** Education + High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree, Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work or criminal justice field preferred. Experience + Direct care experience in a mental health or forensic mental facility, security residence or correctional facility preferred. + Healthcare, mental health or human services experience a plus. Licenses/Certifications + Healthcare, mental health or human services license or certification a plus. Compliance + Requires successful completion of 40 hours of agency pre-service and annual training to include training on how to appropriately interact with, and document interactions with, patients on Mental Health Watch. + Requires Crisis Intervention Training pre-service. + Support Persons coverage is required at least six days per week, 8 hours per day, on the days as clinically indicated, and as informed by data pointing to patient need.
