Mental Health Team Leader - Mindstrong

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? As a Team Leader for Thresholds' Mindstrong Program, you will lead a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, including therapists, a vocational specialist, a peer specialist, and a prescriber as they provide mental health services to young adults on the north side of Chicago. This includes sharing direct service duties within the team and leading by example while working directly with clients, providing guidance, and growing the clinical skills of your team.

Mindstrong is a highly specialized program, providing state-of-the-art services to youth and young adults who are experiencing a First Episode of psychosis, who are at risk for symptoms of psychosis, or have other serious mental health challenges. You will use evidence-based practices to support the young clients, providing First Episode services in the community and wherever is relevant for achieving treatment and personal goals. You and your team will provide assessment, care coordination & case management, individual therapy and support (including CBT for psychosis), family psychoeducation, and multi-family groups. This team provides cutting-edge programming: our youth participate in the Young Adult Advisory Board, receive Cognitive Training, and we use evaluative tools to ensure that we’re making a positive difference in our clients’ lives. We implement research findings by our Young Adult Research program, who have published papers and presented internationally on the innovative, evidence-informed practices used by this team.

Our culture is supportive, and the Team Leaders are key to setting the tone. During regular team meetings and supervision, you will engage and motivate your staff, provide direct feedback, coach staff to meet billing targets, drive collaboration on client care, and help staff work through challenges. Share your knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices and receive ongoing opportunities for training, clinical supervision, and leadership development.
