Position Summary:
The Mental Health Technician is defined as a member of the Mental Health Unit healthcare team who is accountable for patient care supportive services under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified nursing assistant home health aide nursing assistant or direct patient care experiencerequired along with 2 years of behavioral health experience required.High School diploma or equivalentHas the ability to read speak and write English in order to perform the duties of the positionWill maintain current competencies and certifications requiredAbility to:Work as a team memberWork effectively under multiple demands and adjust priorities as circumstances require to meet staffing needsMaintain a high degree of accuracy and precision on consistent basis in the performance of proceduresTreat coworkers patients physicians and family with dignity and respectEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with all hospital staffMaintain patient confidentialityPhysically able to work stand stoop and liftAble to walk and stand at least 50% of the shiftGood manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuityCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
