Due to continued growth and expansion, we have opportunities for Mental Health Technicians to join our team in the Emergency Department to help us provide a caring, safe and healing environment for our patients. Regions Hospital is the largest provider of inpatient mental health services in the east metro. We treat all mental illnesses in adults at our state-of-the-art facility. This means we can provide comprehensive, personalized care for all our patient’s needs, no matter how complex.
As a Mental Health Technician, you will work with a collaborative care team providing patients with the best care and support. You’ll work with psychiatrists, physician assistants, occupational therapists, nurses, social workers and more. You will provide patient care to patients experiencing mental illness(es) and their families using de-escalation skills, group dynamics and facilitation. This includes assisting with crisis management, therapeutic programming, and milieu management as member of the Mental Health Care team. This role is instrumental in addressing emergent and urgent issues as needed.

Work Schedule: 7 AM-3:30 PM, block, every other weekend.
Required Qualifications
Completion of a post-secondary education program in behavioral sciences OR completion of one year of a post-secondary education in behavioral sciences OR has at least 1 year of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness OR 1 year of similar related health care experience as applicable. Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association.Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from a college or university. Experience with planning and facilitation strongly preferred.Benefits
