Job Description
Our large outpatient clinic is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Therapist. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical supervision and developing psychiatric treatment plans. You will work alongside a collaborative team consisting of a psychologist, three Mental Health Therapists, and a Nurse Practitioner. We are looking for one full-time therapist for the main clinic and one full-time therapist to split time between the main clinic and the substance abuse clinic.
ResponsibilitiesProvide therapeutic services to clients with diverse mental health needs.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.Participate in clinical supervision and professional development activities.Essential SkillsGraduate of an approved Master’s degree program in social work, counseling psychology, or a related mental health field.Active and valid Maryland licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW), with LCPC or LCSW-C preferred.Wide knowledge of evidence-based theory and best practices.Ability to apply effective therapeutic methods across various modalities with diverse populations.Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to plan and organize time and tasks efficiently.Composure under stress.Must obtain and maintain BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with substance abuse treatment is highly desirable.Ability to work with a multidisciplinary collaborative team.Opportunities for professional growth and progression within the role.Work Environment
The work environment is a large traditional clinic that covers substance abuse, anxiety disorders, and provides individual or group therapy for adults. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Part-time opportunities are also available. The clinic offers a supportive setting with opportunities for clinical supervision hours under a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor for graduate-level candidates.
