GENERAL SUMMARY: Functions as a clinical subject matter expert in the family clinic setting with the additional responsibilities of providing crisis intervention and related services to clinic patients as directed by the physicians and physician assistants as needed. Functions as a clinical point person in the family practice clinic team, coordinating services with Mercy Behavioral Health psychiatric staff. Accepts referrals from assigned clinic or clinics. Provides assessment, diagnosis, and therapy.  Provides crisis intervention and brief therapy as indicated by the needs of the pt. Coordinates psychiatric referral.  Provides ongoing support and crisis intervention to the clinic population.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
●    Directs and supervises all provisionally licensed and graduate level students; ensuring that all students and provisionally licensed students are meeting state and university objectives and milestones. 
●    Supervise and review all provisionally licensee notes and co-sign  
●    Engage with the outpatient therapy team in a manner that promotes culture, development, support and team engagement
●    Engage with Psychiatry Residents by providing supportive curriculum and engagement in relationship to their annual Cognitive Behavioral Health therapy experience. This includes weekly lectures and oversight/supervision of therapy patient care. 
●    Assists department leader with day to day management of staffing, team scheduling and ensuring coverage for clinic during all hours of operation, or other duties as assigned
●    Investigates problems and makes recommendation to the department leader for resolutions.
●    Facilitates monthly clinical department meetings.
●    Assists with the recruitment and team interview process.
●    Mentors new hires. Assists with coordination of and participates in orientation and staff development activities as requested.
●    Participates effectively as a lead-team member in the clinic being a resource and accountable to peers, providers and patients.
●    Assumes responsibility for implementing QA and core-competency guidelines within the clinic, as required.
●    Assists with implementing process changes or other duties as assigned to meet clinic goals.
●    Provides leadership to the clinical staff and is a liaison between the clinical staff and the clinic department leader.
●    Engages with the community to develop and build our network of University Liaison to attract graduate students. 
●    Reflects advanced competency in psychosocial assessment and diagnosis.
●    Maintains caseload with 25% of biweekly time
●    Develops individualized psychosocial case plans based on assessment and in conjunction with other members of the health care delivery team. Implements plan and monitors patient's progress. 
●    Provides psychosocial interventions /treatment services to restore patients to optimum social and physical health adjustment within their capacity. 
●    Provides clinical and administrative consultation to physicians and allied health professionals through patient evaluations, case management, in-service programs and educational presentations. 
●    Maintains liaison with community health and social service agencies.
●    Prepares and maintains documentation records/reports in a timely and qualitative fashion. 
●    Demonstrates leadership in problem solving and program development. 
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: 
●    Participates in relevant in-service training programs as required. 
●    Participates in planning and development of programs and make suggestions for improving the department's services. 
●    Serves as a consultant to others in areas of specialized experience. 
●    Participates on committees as appropriate.
●    Performs related duties as required. 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 
●    Licensed in the state of Iowa, as social worker, marriage and family counselor or mental health therapist (LMFT, LMHC, LISW)
●    3 years post graduate experience, with 6 additional CEUs towards Supervision
●    Master's degree 
●    Knowledgeable regarding clinical interviewing techniques.
●    Knowledgeable regarding principles, standards and ethics.
●    Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
