Job Overview:

The Mental Health Worker provides care to individuals with mental or emotional conditions or disabilities under the direction of nurses and physicians. The Mental Health Worker closely monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff.

Qualifications:

Required:

HS Diploma or equivalentBLS through the American Heart Association

Preferred:

Previous experience working with psychiatric and/or substance abuse patientsPrevious experience in psychology or sociology

Scheduling Requirements:

Various 8 hour shiftsAlso rotate every other weekendPer Diem (PD)

Essential Functions:

Monitor vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressurePerform EKGsDraw labs and collect specimens from patientsAssist patients in their daily activities such as: eating, dressing, and bathingProvide therapeutic groups and recreational activities to patientsAssist in non-violent crisis interventionAssist in orienting new staff membersParticipate in patient/staff meetings, and group and community meetings
