Job Description
We are seeking an MEP Coordinator with strong computer skills and familiarity with Switchgears and UPS systems as they relate to Data Centers. This role is based in Northern VA and requires openness to travel. The ideal candidate will have experience in Data Centers and the Electrical field. As an MEP Technical Coordinator, you will be responsible for working with customers during the installation of electrical and cooling equipment and troubleshooting mechanical and control issues. You will represent the client onsite with a roughly 65/35 technical/coordination split, and may travel to other sites to assist with advanced mechanical and control situations.
ResponsibilitiesIntegrate systems to communicate with the owner's control systemTroubleshoot communication issues within systemsDiagnose program or equipment/hardware issuesUpdate obsolete control systems to new platformsEnsure HVAC equipment communicates with the owner's control systemOversee commissioning of chillers, taking into account site-specific characteristicsFacilitate communication among project stakeholdersVerify that systems meet project requirements through quality assurance processesCoordinate project schedules with business units and schedulersManage large project sites to ensure timely completionAct as the single point of contact for HVAC project statusManage project status and information in formal briefings and weekly callsAttend regular project meetings to address action items and project schedulesUnderstand and enforce site safety protocols, including LOTO and PPEEssential SkillsExperience with Data CentersCommissioning and testing of UPS/ATS systemsAbility to travel 100%Strong computer skillsTroubleshooting skillsKnowledge of Procore and OSHA regulationsMechanical and construction management experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsEngineering degree (mechanical and/or electrical)Professional Engineer (PE) License, Certified HVAC Designer (CHD), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), EPA 608 Certification10+ years working with advanced mechanical systemsHVAC interface experienceExperience retrofitting control systemsUnderstanding of Energy Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)Configuration of communication cards2+ years’ experience managing large, high-profile projectsAbility to read blueprints and associated building informationStrong understanding of business objectives and project managementExcellent communication and follow-through skillsStrategic thinking and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Willingness to travel in North AmericaProfessional representation and self-motivationWork Environment
This position is onsite at a Data Center in Northern VA. Due to the traveling schedule of most employees, this role includes a 3-day weekend once a month. This is a salaried exempt position.
