Our client is an established Tier 1 contractor with extensive operations in Ireland, UK, and Europe. Due to a full order book across all regions, our client is now looking for an experienced and highly skilled MEP Electrical Manager for Data Centre projects. As MEP Electrical Manager you will oversee all electrical aspects of data centre projects ensuring the effective planning, design, installation, and testing of electrical systems ensuring that it meets industry standards, project timelines, and budget requirements, delivering a high-quality, reliable electrical system.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Manage project resources including, manpower, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient project execution.
Develop comprehensive project plans for the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
Coordinate electrical works with other MEP and construction activities to align with the overall project schedule.
Manage procurement schedules for electrical equipment, ensuring materials and components are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Ensure that all electrical components meet project specifications and are compatible with data centre requirements, such as uptime, redundancy, and energy efficiency.
Assess and approve electrical designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Monitor and report on progress of electrical work, proactively addressing potential delays or resource shortages.
Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges effectively to senior management and other relevant parties.
Maintenance of quality and health and safety standards in line with internal procedures.
Supervise electrical installation activities on site ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards and quality requirements.
Proven record in delivering Electrical projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, on time and within budget.
Relevant 3rd Level Electrical Qualification/ Electrical Engineering or related.
10+ years’ experience in Electrical Engineering role within MEP environment is desirable.
Relevant certifications in electrical engineering or project management are beneficial.
Deep understanding of electrical systems critical to data centres, including redundancy, power backup, and energy efficiency requirements.
Ability to identify and mitigate risks proactively to ensure successful project outcomes.
Skilled in managing cross-functional teams and coordinating complex tasks in a high-stakes environment.
