CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an MEP Project Manager to join our Commercial & Institutional - Buildings/MEP Team at our office in either Colonie, NY or Syracuse, NY.

The MEP Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and oversight of projects within the group. Primary functions include interfacing with the market teams, client and project teams. The individual in this role will work effectively and efficiently to complete projects within the scope, budget and schedule. The MEP Project Manager is responsible for managing the overall client relationship including any technical, financial or logistical issues that may arise.

 

More specifically, duties of this role include the following: 

Responsible for preparing proposals including development of scope, schedule and budget by coordinating with CHA technical groups and market staffResponsible for meeting the client’s needs and addressing issues that arise during the projectDevelops and determines projects tasks through coordination with technical task managersResponsible for developing a comprehensive project schedule and communicating updates to the client, management and project team; manages project completion through project scheduling, expediting of required submissions and the management of the document submittals/approvals; exercises judgment and discretion and implements project controls while maintaining project qualityResponsible for coordination of contracts with client, subcontractors, purchase orders, daily correspondence, and all other project related documentsDevelops project plan and Quality Management Plan as requiredConducts regular project progress meetings with client manager and provides progress reports to project teamCommunicates with project team and technical task managers so that the project is being delivered as effectively and efficiently as possible per the contract documentsMaintains electronic project directory including all relevant project information including contracts, subcontracts, invoices, critical correspondence and general project filesPrepares for and attends monthly Project Review meetings with OperationsResponsible for all project financials including revenue, multiplier, gross margin, budget, forecast, cash flow, subcontractor billings/payments, and manages project to maintain positive cash flow throughout its life cycleReviews, manages and approves subcontractor paymentsManages subcontractor selection process and executes subcontractor notice to proceedsDevelops project specific health and safety plan (HASP) in coordination with health and safety manager and communicates the plan with the project team; monitors compliance with the HASP by the project teamResponsible for verifying that projects meet required QA/QC compliance as determined by Quality Management PlanResponsible for preparation and submission of project close-out documents for the clientProvides a high level of service and responsiveness to client and co-workers

REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Science, Planning, Engineering Management or related degree required; Master’s Degree preferredBuilding design experience directly involving building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) preferredPE or equivalent professional license preferredPMP certification preferred2+ years of experience required; 1+ years of technical task management or Assistant Project Manager experience requiredProven ability to manage scope, budget and schedule of technical tasksProficient in Microsoft Suite and other management softwareOrganized and detail-orientedSkilled collaboratorExcels in a high-paced work environmentStrong communication skills both oral and writtenAbility to multi-task effectivelyFocused and supportive to management at all timesSelf-starter who works well independentlyAdaptable and calm under pressureKnowledge of Deltek Vision preferredExpert problem solver SALARY RANGE:

$74,000 - $90,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
