ResponsibilitiesAs an MEP Project Manager with Hines, you will act as the Owner’s representative, manage all MEP-related activities associated with the construction of a single or multiple base building(s) and/or interior improvements plus miscellaneous capital projects while adhering to the project schedule, budget, lender and/or ownership requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems on construction projects to ensure they meet all requirements specifications, codes and standards. Collaborate with architects, engineers and construction teams to integrate MEP systems into the overall project design, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
Manage project budgets, including estimating costs associated with materials, labor, and MEP equipment, and controlling costs within financial limits.
Plan and supervise MEP system installations, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget and in accordance with project specifications.
Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members, to ensure a clear understanding of MEP requirements and project timelines.
Perform quality inspections of MEP installations to verify that they meet the highest industry standards and comply with all relevant regulations and codes.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors for MEP materials and services, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with project specifications and deadlines.
Investigate and implement innovative MEP technologies and sustainable practices to improve project efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and provide customers with state-of-the-art systems.
Quality Control Standards: Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach are required to ensure projects meet or exceed established standards. Knowledge of industry regulations, effective coordination with stakeholders, and implementation of continuous improvement processes throughout the project lifecycle are essential.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements include:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required in engineering or related field, preferably in electrical engineering or building services.Five years in a MEP-focused related experienceExperience with the financial industry and Data Center environment is a plus.Proven experience in project management, particularly in the context of our large works, new build projects or milestone projects.Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and utilizing Microsoft project to produce a project based and multi-project plan.Communicate the multi-projects plan to the operations team for coordination with scheduled PM activities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Good problem solving and decision making skills.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
