The Opportunity

As our Furniture/Casegoods Buyer at Ballard Designs you will manage furniture categories. You will need a customer first approach and will provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Experience with the customer, detailed knowledge of the brand and results, competitive intelligence, and constant awareness of both macro and market trends are the major priorities.

You will have the opportunity merchandise across multiple channels to maximize sales, margins and inventory turnover while promoting brand image and product quality.You will report to our Sr Director.

Your Impact

You will create and lead the furniture assortment strategy by making and influencing decisions at every stage of the product lifecycle; from inspiration to launch; initial line plan to design and then sourcing, planning, and pricing, product placement and improving sales.Partner with the Director of Furniture and VP of Merchandising to develop and implement business strategies that maximize sales, margins, and inventory productivity. Build category specific Assortment Architecture through Seasonal Assortment plans.In partnership with design and sourcing, initiates and develops a unique, proprietary, and focused product assortment that delivers quality, improves productivity, has price/value relationship, and delivers on financial goals.Partner with Planning to agree on final assortment, create collection plans and work with new receipt budgets to maximize main areas of the business and achieves the financial targets of the category and total brand. Together, planning and merchants guide in season results, maximizing opportunities while mitigating risk.

What You Bring

Bachelor's Degree preferred in Merchandising, Marketing, or related field.3+ years Merchandising, Buying, Sourcing or Planning experienceExperience in a vertically integrated retailer, with demonstratable success in product creativity and financial resultsYou will have a understanding of sales analysis and financial metrics that relate to your business.
