THE ROLE

This basic timeline will provide you with an idea of the diverse roles you will undertake. You will be involved in various tasks, including working with inventory processes and spending time in The Shops. You will be able to collaborate with Legends staff and leading tennis merchandise and apparel manufacturers. This experience will offer you valuable insights into the overall operations of a tennis championship.

2025 PGA Championship
Location: Quail Hollow Golf Club, Charlotte North Carolina
Time Frame: April 24th – May 20th, 2025

POSITION DESCRIPTION-TIMELINE:

End of April

Assist in receiving all merchandise for The PGA Shops Receive product cartons; Conduct inventory processes; Organize received products into storage trailers

First half of May

Assist with set-up and visual displays within The PGA Shops Work with national vendor representatives to move products into the store; Organize back stock; Aesthetically merchandise the sales floor Work with visuals consultant and Legends Staff to create and apply visuals throughout the Shops

 Middle of May

Assist in the final preparations of the merchandise facilities Create signage; Organize the point-of-sale stations; Train volunteers

 Event Week

Assist our full-time merchandise staff in running The PGA Shops throughout the PGA Championship event week (May 9 - 19) Direct over 700 volunteers in various areas of the merchandise operations; Assist vendors with product related tasks; Provide customer service to patrons; Replenish back stock; Other duties assigned

 

Post Tournament Week

Assist with the breakdown of the merchandise operations Assist with post-event sales; Ending inventory procedures; Load out processes

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Legends Global Merchandise Staff PGA Members and Apprentices 50+ National Merchandise Licensees and their Lead Sales Representatives 700+ PGA Championship Volunteers

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. Must be friendly, self-motivated, and love meeting new people in an exciting event setting Willingness and drive to exceed guest expectations Must be able to work in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment Must maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to stand, walk, bend and move throughout the venue for extended periods of time Ability to transport up to 30 lbs on a continuous basis Basic math skills; ability to accurately count change and balance bank Ability to work independently or in a team during set up and to get tasks done efficiently Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and guests Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members along with willingness to set and maintain high standards of performance Must be flexible to work extended hours including late nights, weekends and holidays Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations including but not limited to Legends’ COVID Preparedness Plan and Standard Operating Procedures, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training. Follow and encourage your team to follow all safety policies and procedures, looking for and reporting any unsafe work conditions, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.

COMPENSATION:

Paid hourly plus overtime – Standard Rate: $10.00 Housing provided by LGM. More details provided during interview process. 2025 PGA Championship logoed staff uniform provided for event days Meals provided throughout the event week (May 10 - 19, 2024)
