The Merchandise Planner in partnership with the Director of MP&A, is responsible for developing and implementing seasonal and fiscal merchandise plans to achieve company budgeted sales, pairs and margin goals.

As we are going through substantial change, innovation and building our winning culture, this role is an in-office position with at least 4 days/week in the office.

As our Name of the Position, your responsibilities will include:

Collaborate with the Planning and Finance teams on a 2-year planning model by category and channel that measures net revenue, pairs, material sell thru, inventory turn and margin. Develop bottoms up 1-year budget by brand for net revenue, pairs, inventory and pricing. Recap and analyze actual sales results by product category to plan and forecast in-season business on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. Manage and present in-season forecast and action plans by category for sales, pairs, inventory and margin. Review merchandise strategies derived from trends and tactics that support the merchandising and financial objectives of both owned & operated retail stores and website. Co-manage commercial calendar and promotional activities with Buyer. Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to business and recommend strategies to achieve financial goals; conduct hindsight analysis to incorporate learnings into current plans. Summarize the opportunity and risk of a product plan as it relates to sell thru and financial metrics: initial mark-up, average unit retail, average unit cost, net margin dollars, and exchange rate. Measure and monitor promotional and pricing strategies by Sales channels, provide recommendations to drive future pricing decisions. Partner with Demand Planning and Logistics to ensure product forecast aligns with buy plans and merchandise flow. Create and update monthly and weekly shipping targets to stores. Manage the Business Intelligence merchandise reporting KPI’s. Generate and manage DTC store and e-com planning in Anaplan. Partner with the Director of MP&A on consumer and market analysis and other reports. Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

If you have…  

High school diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of experience in retail merchandise planning, buying or allocation. Strong financial, analytical and communication skills are essential. Keen understanding of retail math including intricacies of open to buy, inventory turnover and gross margin.   Working knowledge of SAP and Anaplan is a plus. Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Expert with Microsoft Excel. Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level. Ability to travel up to 5%, both domestic and internationally.
