This is a full time, exempt position

MAIN FUNCTION: This individual will report to the Commercial Manger of the location as a part of the local and regional team.  The Merchandiser, acting as a part of the team, will be responsible for the procurement of soybeans and wheat, managing logistics, and the trading of soybean meal and soybean hulls. The position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with multiple internal and external accounts including the handling of trading, originations, logistics, accounting, and other customer related issues.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting), supplemented with a minimum of two (2) year of experience in the marketing of commodities and related food, feed and/or fuel products in North America. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment.Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the domestic & international trade.Proven ability to manage effectively within a team-based work environment.Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers.Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.Applications within a windows based operating environment.Individual must be committed to corporate ethics policies & safety programs.Excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed?
