A Merchandiser is responsible for executing the workflow to secure the best product offer. Now, ‘best deal’ might sound simple at face value. But there’s a bit more to it than that. In essence, it’s about striking the right balance between a few different things. As a Merchandiser you will have the ownership on managing and optimizing the entire workflow and secure the best deal in terms of price, fashion, speed, sustainable materials, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive development, quotation and order follow up processes as per the set plan/ goals to secure the best deal for products and on time deliveryStrike the right balance between obtaining the best price for the company and customers while considering production lead-times, product quality, safety, user-friendliness, and sustainabilityBuild and maintain strong relationship with supplier and ensure the best supplier are selected for each productMonitor suppliers’ performance and manage supplier relations related to short and long-term goals of production by considering all success factors such as price, fashion, speed, sustainable material, and innovationUnderstand competitive environment and get the correct balance between the expectations of the customer and the objectives of the company's strategyWork collaboratively with the Supply Chain team during business execution, ensuring alignment and cooperation to secure optimized procurement procedures and creative solutions based on data and product knowledgeQualificationsWho are you?
The person we are looking for must have experience in order follow-up & negotiation skills. A team player, who can drive towards the common goal and should preferably handling big volume of Woven products, good understanding on woven fabric and woven garment production. The person should be strong on T&A to secure OTD and be well versed with methods, systems (e.g. PLM) and tools. Communication skills will also be a key element when deciding who we will hire for the role as you will need to build relationships across Production and Buying Office. To be successful in this role, you need to have strong analytical skills for anticipating potential challenges on a global level, suggesting optimizations, and resolving issues. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who have strong ownership, Strong adaptability and can work independently.
This role touches almost the entire supply chain, so you need to proactively manage various internal stakeholders globally, balancing different, sometimes competing—or even conflicting— priorities and somehow finding your way through it all to reach a mutually beneficial outcome. When it works, it’s a symphony of global level coordination. And when it doesn’t, you have contingent strategies in place to minimize the impact.
What you need to succeed?
Academic background in Textile Engineering is preferrable5-7 years of working experience with Woven products, preferable for MensEffective time management - being stress-resistant and good at prioritizationHave a flexible mindset, positive attitude, and be an inspirational team playerBeing fashion knowledgeable and have a genuine interest in fashion trendsAdditional InformationThis is a full-time position.
