THE ROLEThe merchandiser - trading will develop, execute and communicate financial plans and strategies to maximise sales and profits for each season/year. Reporting into the head of merchandising you will also support overall objectives of the global business for AllSaints.
The goal of the merchandising function is to drive the business (revenue, EBITDA) through strategic seasonal merchandise planning, controlled inventory management and insightful commercial analysis.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?Create a top line quarterly/ seasonal strategy relating to all KPI’s working collaboratively with the Planning, Trading and sales teamsProvide historical analysis to develop quarterly / seasonal planning forecasts for given department/channel responsibilityOwnership of regional WSSI, forecasting and planningIdentify risk and opportunity within the market of responsibility. Taking action to drive sales and minimise risk in all channels within the region; Digital, digital concessions, wholesale, full price retail, outlets & third PartyLead weekly trading reviews of sales, margin and stock against channel/region KPIs. Prepare analysis and reporting to support trading decisionsRelay and articulate trading actions, information and analysis to key stakeholders within the business Key stakeholders include but not limited to the planning, retail, wholesale sales, digital concessions and e-comm teamsWork closely with the ecommerce team to influence and drive trade on regional websites. Weekly reviews of on site performance with recommendations to content, experience and VM teamsClosely monitor intake flow into the business to hit monthly forecasts, drive sales and minimise risks and communicate to the distribution centre for short term work flow planning and longer term budgetingOwn global stock by driving in season sales through utilisation of ATS and identifying opportunities to reduce stock holding across all channels within the regionLeading and developing a team of junior merchandisers, assistant merchandisers and MA’sDevelop current systems and processes that are in place and be instrumental in implementing best practices for efficiencies WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?Previous experience in retail merchandising or planning and wholesale is essentialExcellent analytical/retail maths skills and advanced excel skills required. Strong knowledge of wholesale systems beneficialProven track record of working cross functionally with multiple departmentsAn energetic, can do and positive attitudeAble to manage own priorities, set own work objectives and proactively identify business issues and develop creative solutionsFlexible and adaptive to changing prioritiesAble to communicate at all levels within the brand in a professional wayStrong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple demands with efficiencyConfidence in suggesting calculated risksPassionate about the industry that we work inA team playerABOUT THE LOCATION
