Merchandising Assistant

The Merchandising Assistant is responsible for working with the merchandiser(s) to ensure appropriate entry and execution of contracts, timely invoicing and payments of shipments and coordination of carrier movements to counterparties.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

Input contract and shipment details into CTRM system and maintain the accuracy of those contracts throughout execution in accordance with audit requirements Work with merchandiser and counterparties to ensure appropriate application and entry of shipments into system Identify and resolve problems and discrepancies with counterparties in timely manner Provide excellent customer service by fostering positive relationships and strong follow-up on issues, both internally and externally Ensure appropriate set up of third-party charges including freight, brokerage, etc. Generate and maintain customer and/or management reports Work closely with accounting to make sure shipments and fees are entered for timely invoicing Assist credit department in resolving overdue accounts Participate in month-end process, including assisting closing of completed contracts, inventory reconciliations, position reconciliation

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required 1 – 3 years of related experience preferred Excellent customer service skills with internal and external customers Excellent attention to details Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work with urgency and deadlines, good time management skills Ability to multi-task and to prioritize different requests, good organization skills Ability to work independently and be task driven High level of problem solving and critical thinking skills for problem resolution, enjoy troubleshooting issues Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings and completing assignments Strong Excel skills and experience with other Microsoft Office products Strong mathematical and computation skills Valid driver’s license required
