Merchandising Assistant
Support Center - Irving

The Merchandising Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing the Merchandising team administrative and project support.

Administrative Processes:   

Prepare, maintain, and update data, reports and records required to support the buying process.Maintain and perform routine data entry in support of the buying process. Set up new vendors.Product database entry and verify item/SKU setup information.Ensure quotes run in a timely manner.Create batch lists of Quote Sheets and upload them into SPEDY for the buying team.Enter data into the Replenishment Management System.Under the guidance of Assistant Buyer/Buyer, maintain Excel assortment plans with SKU detail.Under the guidance of Assistant Buyer/Buyer, write seasonal purchase orders.Process and track purchase orders.  Communicate any changes to the vendor.Work with internal departments to develop wave breaks and generate POs, as needed.Run daily and weekly sales reports by class and department in support of buying team. Respond to customer and store requests as needed.Track, organize, purge and display samples and expenses. Maintain sample rooms, including shipping packages, processes and delivery to appropriate manager.Coordinate with partners for sample sales.Mockup packaging for samples for POG walks.

Advertising:

Assist buying team with the preparation and proofing of necessary plans, materials, data and reports for assigned tasks.Maintain ad rotation, ensure ad accuracy of signage.Proof ads for accuracy. Input comments into proofing system, as neededOrder and coordinate ad samples from vendors to AdvertisingPack and deliver samples from Planogram (POG) to AdvertisingComplete Ad Turn-in forms with accurate offer information and photography direction

Planogram (POG):

Request, track, and organize samples pre/post planogram review.Maintain accurate labeling for POG setsUnder guidance of Assistant Buyer/Buyer, execute the product presentation in the model store.Under guidance of Assistant Buyer, set up and manage the POG area for the overall category, including private label brands

Vendor:

Communicate to vendors for sample requestsCommunicate with vendors for ecommerce assets

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

Two years college or relevant experience

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills

Proficient with MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPointStrong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Ability to work independently.Good communication skills.Ability to work in an environment of change

Preferred Education

Four-year college degree

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.Frequent physical movement including standing, stooping, bending, use of ladder at times and lifting
