Job Summary

This role will develop and execute merchandising strategies that align with Filson’s brand vision and business goals.  This requires close partnership with all sales channels, including retail, wholesale, and e-commerce.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of merchandising principles, market trends, and consumer behavior.  The Merchandising Manager will oversee and manage day-to-day responsibilities of two product merchandise employees.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Team Leadership - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of two product merchandise employees.  Develop and maintain a collaborative, engaging and high-performance workplace culture. Merchandising Strategy - Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to support brand objectives and drive sales growth across all channels. Merchandising Plan/ Line Plan - Create, manage and implement the merchandising plan in partnership with the VP of Merchandising.  Partner with Product Development, Sourcing, and Design to ensure execution in line with the company’s financial plans Product Planning - Oversee the planning and execution of product assortments.  Ensure alignment with market trends, consumer demand and company's OTB requirements Market Analysis - Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the marketplace. Channel Collaboration - Work closely with retail, wholesale, and e-commerce teams to ensure cohesive and integrated merchandising strategies and implementation of the GTM strategy. Performance Metrics - Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of merchandising strategies and make data-driven decisions. Data Reporting - Prepare and present regular reports on merchandising performance, sales trends, and inventory levels to senior management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising or, related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising, with at least 2 years in a management role. Preferred experience within the lifestyle, outdoor apparel and/or gear industry. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Salary range:$100,000—$115,000 USD
