Merchandising Manager
Job Overview:
The Merchandising Manager will be responsible for managing various categories within the store and coordinating all necessary buying and merchandising activities. Merchandising managers need to be analytical, creative, and able to adapt to market trends. They also need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work well with others.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to:
+ Manage various categories of products with regard to trends, competitive activity, sales, and gross profit to improve return on investment and market share.
+ Develop pricing and promotional strategy for areas of responsibility. This includes coordination of advertising and signage needs.
+ Establish retail pricing guidelines, gross profit, sales objectives to maximize profit potential in conjunction with budget and strategies.
+ Source innovative new products, ideas, and promotions, including the ability to get in/out of trends quickly, seasonal, and event opportunities.
+ Develop and maintain plan-o-grams with key suppliers. Support these efforts by being present at resets when necessary.
+ Conduct meetings and visit stores to inform Operations of new and existing merchandising tools available to enhance the consumer image and profitability, and to ensure continuity and consistency of programs
+ Negotiate costs and promotions to maximize sales and profit in stores.
+ Identify new suppliers and add/discontinue products to maintain a variety. Manage all vendor contracts to ensure timely receipt of rebates and promotional funding.
+ Work in conjunction with store operations to develop and oversee training programs.
+ Checks market competition, complete pricing surveys, and provide feedback on product pricing and promotions.
+ Ensures Day 1 functions are executed at the store level
+ Creates and validates floor plan changes and updates.
+ Verify signage requirements, execution, and update store profiles anytime there are program or equipment changes, remodels, or rebuilds.
+ Works with vendors to identify opportunity areas and develop plans to enhance expectations and execution at the store level.
+ Develop digital marketing strategies.
+ Travel to Trade shows, stores, and other industry events.
+ Actively model and support a culture of safety which includes, but is not limited to, food safety, Team Member safety, customer safety.
+ Actively participate in, and promote, an environment that embraces diversity, inclusion, and respect for Team Members, Customers, Vendors, and the Community.
+ Ability to talk, hear, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
+ Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
+ Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
+ Ability to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 40 degrees for up to 30 minutes.
+ Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency or hazmat situation.
+ Follows company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines.
+ Ability to occasionally work alone.
+ Ability to handle high levels of stress.
+ Regular and reliable attendance.
+ Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience/Education
+ A degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
+ Experience with AutoCAD, Cloud, and planogram software.
+ Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
+ Experience in merchandising.
+ Strong negotiation skills.
+ Must pass background screenings.
+ Must have a valid driver’s license.
+ Must possess strong leadership, management, team building, and communication skills.
+ Travel required.
