• Complete Department assigned special projects as needed
• Ability to research Department processes by meeting with all individuals in the department and gathering information to write formal processes for others to use and follow
• Foster a culture of continuous innovation; create/improve internal and store processes to simplify communication/rollouts of existing and new programs.
• Provide support to a Category Manager and others within the Merchandising department as needed
• Coordinate all day-to-day activities across assigned categories
• Independently and with direction from Category Managers, draft and deliver category and promotional communications to Stationstores such as emails, event calendar messages, updates, etc.
• Complete tasks and projects in timely manner; balance multiple demands and priorities in fast paced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining high performance and efficiency
o Utilize calendar highlighting promotion deadlines; provide administrative support to Category Manager to ensure successful program rollouts
• Act as central contact person for category questions from internal partners on topics such as accounting rebates and bill backs, McLane orders, Price Book exceptions, and general inquiries from Operations
• Supports decision-making regarding merchandising opportunities and issues in conjunction with external vendors
• Perform weekly and ad-hoc reporting as needed on category sales and trends
• Perform system maintenance such as new item setups, cost and retail changes, miscellaneous item and vendor maintenance, coordinate promotional orders, new store set ups, etc.
• Acts independently with minimal supervision
SIGNIFICANT EXTERNAL/INTERNAL CONTACTS:
Regular communications with supervisor, store personnel, Price Book, Marketing and Operations personnel; requires problem solving skills, ability to interact and discuss viable solutions, work in groups to obtain approvals and ability to provide strong written and verbal solutions to the team.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• Strong organizational and process documentation skills
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to plan, execute and report on Merchandising program initiatives
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel & Power Point
• Strong team player with the eagerness & aptitude to grow
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to learn other reporting software including Essbase/Smart View
